Koodum Thedi (1985)

This soulful romantic drama delightfully depicts the trials and triumphs in the life of Peter (Mohanlal), a fun-loving young man. He is friendly and shares a close bond with his younger brother, Rex who is a college student. Peter's carefree life is radically altered when he falls head over heels in love with Devi (Radhika). However, all his hopes and dreams for the future crash when he finds out that Menon, Devi's brother has already made plans for her marriage with Jayakumar (Sreenath), who just happens to be Peter's close friend. Peter decides to remain silent and sacrifice his love. Devi marries Jayakumar, but in a cruel twist of fate, he passes away in an accident, not long after their marriage.
