Kizhakkunarum Pakshi (1991)

This melodiously musical drama follows the trials and triumphs in the life of Ananthu, a talented musician and guitarist, who returns to India after a successful stint in the US. Despite facing criticism for allowing Western influence to dilutes Indian traditional music, he believes that it is important to appreciate and learn all types of music for the listening pleasure of audiences. After a very lucrative and successful international trip, he returns to his ancestral village and home to re-establish his roots and return to a life of solitude and introspection. His wish for a quiet life is disturbed when his friends try to convince him to start a musical band that would play, authentic, soulful music. Will Ananthu agree to give up his privacy and return to public life once more? How will his musical journey unfold?
