"The Man from U.N.C.L.E", a delicious drama involving suspense, action, thrills and seduction is truly a must watch. This is a period drama with the backdrop of the world war in the 60's and boy-oh-boy, everything from the cars, the props, the costumes and the make up is so good and vintage that it sends u into the flash back mode. There are some clumsily rushed through action scenes in the 2nd half but that does not dampen the entire package.
Director Guy Ritchie keeps the pace uniformly even except for a few moments when the background music seems like its playing a homage to Indian cinema..i mean those violin strains and its long pauses et al.The cast is quite easy on the eyes..with both Henry Cavill (we can forgive you for the awful superman returns reprise) and Armie Hammer(the tough hunk with attitude and grit) locking horns literally and with the crafty wordplay. Both look like Ken dolls waiting to be wooed by the gals.As for the women, Alicia Vikander is all spirit and she reminded me so much of a cocktail Penelope Cruz and Annie Hathway.Elizabeth Debicki is lusciously sexy and wears evil like a cloak with consummate ease. And lets not forget Hugh Grant who may not have much screen time but still has the charm with all his wrinkles and wry smile intact. Some one interested in Notting hill 2!!
Sorry that I am not revealing much about the plot here. This is a movie that needs to be welcomed with lots of smiles/chuckles and a huge tub of popcorn.Fun and sizzle guaranteed in equal proportions.

Goofs:
Factual Mistake
Despite the careful costuming, including vintage clothing, Gaby can be seen wearing a pair of 2015 Russell & Bromley sandals at one point.

Character Error
When Illya puts the engagement ring on the finger of Gaby, he puts it on the left hand. Russians wear engagement and wedding rings on the right hand.

Continuity
Solo's case officer says that Waverly is with British Naval Intelligence, but the end credits say he was with the F branch of MI-5.

Crew/Equipment Visible
In the retro torture room the swinging light is an incandescent bulb but with a LED inside the bulb producing the light. The faux incandescent filament can be seen, but it's not used.

Crew/Equipment Visible
About halfway through, when Gaby comes out of the hotel to meet Ilya, the car they're getting into has a camera on the roof, facing the sidewalk.

Factual Mistake
When Illya is being shown all the information on Solo via the projector, one of the newspaper clippings uses the font Myriad Pro. This font was first released to the world by Adobe in 2000, not the 50s or earlier, as suggested.

Factual Mistake
The Land Rover used in the cross country chase scene was from the late 60s (if not later). It had head lamps on the wheel arches and that change only occurred in 1968.

Factual Mistake
The vehicle that was used in east Berlin is Trabant 601s, which has two stroke, air cooled engine and does not sound like the one in the movie.
