Swayam (1991)

Sheltered Aparajita Chitre loses her husband to a terminal disease and she has two daughters Poonam and Nandini. Nandini has problems in her marriage due to her husbands womanizing ways and Nandini marries to a small time struggling film actor. Poonam and Nandini prevent Aparajita from selling her jewels to fund her husband's treatment but before he dies, he informs his wife for moral strength and advices her something in private. Poonam and Nandini decide to care for their mother but Aparajita decides to be financially and socially independent. Aparajita faces many failures in her struggle of independence but she follows her husbands advice and becomes successful.
