Sreeragam (1995)

Set against the artistic backdrop of traditional music and dance, this soulful family drama delves into the struggles and successes in the life of Venkateswaran, a loving and generous young man from a Brahmin family. He wholeheartedly attempts to take care of all of his family's needs including getting his younger sister married and happily settled. Venkateswaran is in love with a beautiful young traditional dancer, Rukmini. In the meantime, a wealthy, but lascivious bachelor in the town, has designs on Indhu, a beautiful woman, whose father has been under great financial strain. Venkateswaran and Indhu are the best of friends, and he makes sincere attempts to find a suitable groom for her. Will he succeed in this task? Or, will complications develop in such a way that Venkateswaran is forced to sacrifice his love for the sake of friendship?
