Raaka (1965)

In the Land of Baku there is a tradition that in order to win the hand in marriage of a Baku maiden by an Outsider, one has to undergo a duel unto death with the guardian of the girl to win the hand or else the person will be killed by kith or kin. One such story where a woman named Dharti from the Baku had left town with an acquaintance, Saagar, while loosing her husband brings up her two year old son, named Raaka. Raaka grows up to be a strong young man and Saagar's daughter Badli is in love with him. Raaka loves a woman named Khejri the sister of a brave man, Parbhat. Raaka wins the duel opposite Parbhat, who kills himself before he is killed by Raaka. But Dharti had promised Raaka to Badli, and a love triangle between Raaka, Badli and Khejri ensues. Who will Raaka choose? what is to happen to the promise to marry Badli?
