Paradesi (1998)

This socially relevant family drama depicts the twists and turns in the life of Gopal, a capable and cultured young man. He has many dreams for his future, and is reluctant to settle down into an ordinary married life, as per his family's wishes.

As a result of his hard work, he gets the opportunity to travel and work abroad. In the process of living outside the country, he falls in love with a Westerner, Cathy. Will Gopal's family members, who have traditional and conservative values, accept his decision and bless their marriage?
