Humorous and heartening, this touching family drama delves into the special bond between a father and son, Mathai (Innocent) and Paappi (Dileep). They live like friends and keep getting into all sorts of mischief in their village, Ithirikkandam. Annie (Kavya Madhavan) works as a teacher in a local school and Paappi is in love with her, though Annie does not like him. Paappi's mother (KPAC Lalitha) and younger sister Mollykkutty (Manju Raghvan) also like Annie very much and want her to become Paappi's wife.
A businessman named Manikkunju (Suresh Krishna) comes to the village, which creates a lot of problems. Meanwhile Annie, with support of Shashankan Muthalali (Ashokan) and fellow school colleague Dasan maash (Rajeev) stands against Paappi in Panchayath election, wins the seat and becomes Panchayath President.
Annie then gets a marriage proposal. Hearing this Paappi goes to Annie's house, where she discovers him jumping around hoping to catch a glimpse of the proceedings. The prospective groom politely expresses his hope of getting a positive from Annie and leaves. Later, to her utter shock and dismay, she gets a call from the man's mother who abuses her, as her son was hit black and blue by Paappi.
Annie, furious about this, goes to Mathai's house and gives him a piece of her mind and Mathai starts to doubt Paappi. Paappi angry about this, behaves in an uncharacteristically rough way with Annie during a school function and in a fit of rage, accepts that he intentionally trashed her marriage proposal. Mathai slaps Paappi and a crack is formed in their relationship. Things get worse when the school run by Mathai's family is burned down and Mathai completely disowns Paappi, embittered by the suspicion that he is the culprit.
Will changing circumstances really succeed in breaking the strong bond between father and son? How will Paappi survive in a world without love and his father's guidance? Is he really the wrong doer? Can Paappi find a way to prove his innocence to his father and the world? Will he succeed in winning Annie's love?
