Where did you watch this movie?

In the fourth installment of the Mission Impossible series, Ethan Hunt and a new team race against time to track down Hendricks, a dangerous terrorist who has gained access to Russian nuclear launch codes and is planning a strike on the United States. An attempt by the team to stop him at the Kremlin ends in a disaster, with an explosion causing severe damage to the Kremlin and the IMF being implicated in the bombing, forcing the President to invoke Ghost Protocol, under which the IMF is disavowed, and will be offered no help or backup in any form. Undaunted, Ethan and his team chase Hendricks to Dubai, and from there to Mumbai, but several spectacular action sequences later, they might still be too late to stop a disaster.

Goofs:
Factual Mistake
Ethan's iPhone 4 is on AT&T carrier while he is in Dubai. In Dubai, he would have been roaming in Etisalat network.

Factual Mistake
A magnetic field powerful enough to lift a human being (who was wearing a metal vest) would also wreak havoc in everything electronic nearby, also throwing into the air the very computers the team was trying to access. The average battery pack cannot supply enough power for such a move.

Continuity
In the climax at Mumbai valet parking scene, the wheel on BMW where hunt uses to jump along with it to get the briefcase is on left side. In India the wheel is always on right side.

Crew/Equipment Visible
The reflection of the crew helicopter is visible for a second in the windows as it flies over the Burj Khalifa building.

Crew/Equipment Visible
When Hunt tries to hide at the outside wall of the hospital, a camera shot from below shows a crew person's feet one floor above Hunt.

Audio/Video Mismatch
Towards the end when Ethan pays for the beers, he drops a note on the table yet the sound is that of a coin striking the surface

Continuity
When Hunt and his team are in the Hotel at Burj Khalifa, they see the sandstorm approaching from the front of the building yet when Hunt and Wistrom exit out front, the storm hits the building from the back.

Continuity
Wistrom & Hunt's car crash happens on an elevated bend of an overpass yet they are shown on a ground-level open freeway seconds later.

Continuity
After Hunt's rescue, while he is in the van with his crew, a LED light, silver in color, can be seen dangling between Jane and the wall of the van. This LED light disappears in some of the shots.

Continuity
When they are on the outside of the private plane to Mumbai, the windows are round like on a boat. When they are inside the plane, the windows are large and square.
Trivia:
The building grazed by the warhead is the Transamerica Pyramid, San Francisco's signature skyscraper. The windowless cap at the top is covered by aluminum panels and is only decorative, containing no office space.

This is the first installment in the series where none of the villains are, or used to be, IMF agents.

In an interesting nod to the first Mission: Impossible film, Ethan reveals to Brandt that the Croatia disaster and Julie's death was faked in order to flush out a mole. In the first film, Jim Phelps told Ethan the same thing behind the Prague assignment disaster.

Jeremy Renner's character Brandt, was specifically created as the eventual replacement for Tom Cruise's character Ethan Hunt for when Cruise decides to step away from the franchise.

Michael Giacchino is the first composer to score more than one movie of the series.

The windows removed from Burj Khalifa were carefully chipped away by two workers with hammers, working from a window washing platform outside the building.

The class ring Trevor Hanaway uses to tranquilize the courier is a Jostens Magnum class ring with a sapphire stone.

The IMF team makes extensive use of Apple products, such as the iPhone, the iPad and the MacBook Air. Producer J.J. Abrams is a vocal supporter of Apple products.

The Burj Khalifa Hotel mentioned in the movie is the Armani Hotel Dubai - the first hotel designed and developed by Giorgio Armani.

The Indian Palace Scene was shot in Zabeel Saray Palm Jumeirah (Dubai). The hotel was still under soft pre-opening during the shooting period, which took three days.

This is the first film to use the 100th Anniversary Paramount logo. Each movie in the MI series has used a different Paramount logo.

Tom Cruise performed the sequence where Ethan Hunt scales the outside of the Burj Khalifa tower himself without the use of a stunt double. The Burj Khalifa tower is the tallest building in the world.

Anthony Mackie, Christopher Egan, Kevin Zegers, Chris Pine, and Tom Hardy were considered to play Brandt.

Kristin Kreuk and Lauren German were considered to play Jane Carter.

Jacinda Barrett auditioned for a role and even revealed some information about the project's reboot direction.
