American actress and producer Michelle Pfeiffer was one of the most popular actresses during the 1980s and 1990s,and was noted as a character actress. Michelle began her acting career in 1978. After accepting several minor roles in television series and films, her first leading role was in the musical film Grease 2 in the year 1982. Pfeiffer achieved widespread recognition as Catwoman in Tim Burton's superhero film Batman Returns in the year 1992. She also earned a third Academy Award nomination for her work in the movie 'Love Field'. She received her first Emmy Award nomination for portraying Ruth Madoff in the HBO television film The Wizard of Lies. Born in Santa Ana, California, USA, Michelle was born as second in four children of Richard Pfeiffer, an air-conditioning contractor, and Donna, a housewife. Her two younger sisters Dede and Lori Pfeiffer are also actresses. Pfeiffer attended Fountain Valley High School, and graduated from Golden West College. She won the Miss Orange County beauty pageant in 1978. After various stints in the television business, Pfeiffer obtained her first major film role as the female lead in the movie 'Grease 2'. After being rejected by director Brian De Palma for Scarface, but she got another chance to audition and won the role of the cocaine-addicted trophy wife Elvira Hancock. In 1990, Pfeiffer formed her own boutique film production company, Via Rosa Productions, which ran for 10 years. Pfeiffer took on the role of Catwoman in Tim Burton's superhero film Batman Returns, with Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito, for which she trained in martial arts and kickboxing. Michelle met fellow budding actor, Peter Horton and got married to him in 1981 at Santa Monica. After her marriage to Horton of two years, Pfeiffer had a three-year relationship with actor/producer Fisher Stevens. Michelle and David E Kelly got married on November 13, 1993, and she adopted a newborn daughter, Claudia Rose, who was christened on Pfeiffer and Kelley's wedding day, and In August 1994, Pfeiffer gave birth to a son, John Henry.
