Touching and thrilling, this offbeat mystery thriller revolves around the life of Ravi Khanna (Amitabh Bachchan), who lives happily with his widowed mother, sister (Farida Jalal), a wheelchair user and younger brother. Out of the blue, he is faced with the shocking news that he suffers from a terminal brain tumor, and has only 6 months to live. In a last-ditch effort to provide for his family, he accepts responsibility for a murder that he has not committed, in order to collect the ransom money of Rs. 500,000. He leaves a trail for the police to follow and he is convicted. While in prison he gets an attack and the jail authorities take him to the hospital where he undergoes a successful operation. Now, he is a confessed criminal for abduction, ransom and murder, which he planted upon himself. In order to save himself from the death penalty, he has no other option but to escape from the hospital in search of the real murderer. Who will he be able to reveal the true identity of the criminal before it is too late?
