merican rapper, songwriter, record producer and actor O'Shea Jackson Sr. better known by his stage name Ice Cube began his career as a song writer and member of the hip-hop group C.I.A after which he joined the seminal rap group N.W.A. He began his solo career in music and acting when he landed a role in the drama 'Boyz n the Hood'. Considered one of the founding artists in gangsta rap,he was ranked number 8 on MTV's list of the 10 Greatest MCs of All Time after Snoop Dog. In his early teens, Ice Cube developed an interest in hip hop music, and began writing raps, and attended the Phoenix Institute of Technology to study architectural drafting which he was passionate about. Ice Cube wrote the screenplay for what became the 1995 comedy Friday, in which he also starred, alongside then up-and-coming comedian Chris Tucker. He had subsequently landed roles in the comedy genre and co-starred in the 2014 box office hit Ride Along, alongside comedian Kevin Hart, and reprised his role in the sequel Ride Along 2. He has also reprized his role in the Barbershop sequel - Sarbershop: The Next Cut. He has completed filming his comedy film Fist Fight alongside Charlie Day and is said to work on the female spin-off of 21 Jump Street. He is married to Kimberly Woodruff, with whom he has four children.
