Bagh Bandi Khela (1975)

This multi-layered family drama insightfully depicts the twists and turns in the life of Rajesh Banerjee, a sincere young man who has had an extremely difficult childhood. While he was a youngster, he was witness to Vabesh Banerjee, his father's heartless abuse and immoral lifestyle. As a young man, Rajesh must come to terms with his poverty stricken childhood, his father's misdeeds, his mother's torturous life. He must also deal with a present in which his father has become a wealthy man with a vast estate and is looking to contest in the upcoming elections. When he comes to Ranipur, his father shows all the signs of having realised the error of his ways and even wishes to gifts him with a portion of its vast wealth. As Rajesh is reunited with his mother and other familiar persons from his past, he must find out if his father is truly a changed man, who is repentant and in search of redemption, or has just learned to disguise his psychopathic nature better?
