Akasa Veedhilo (2001)

This multi-layered story of friendship, love and sacrifice revolves around two fearless pilots, Chandu (Nagarjuna) and Suri (Rajendra Prasad), who are the best of friends and share an unbreakable bond.

Indu (Raveena Tandon) and Padma (Kasthuri) are very good friends. Chandu gets married to Indu and Suri marries Padma. In due course, Indu and Padma become pregnant.

However, in a tragic twist, Indu meets with a car accident and not only loses her baby, but also becomes clinically unable to have children. Padma gives birth to twins, Ram and Lakshman. Padma and Suri generously allow Indu and Chandu to adopt Ram.

In yet another tragic twist, just three years later Lakshmanan is diagnosed with cancer. When he requires a bone marrow transplant, his twin, Ram is the perfect match, but Indu refuses and flees with Ram to Delhi fearing that Chandu will force her to send Ram for the procedure.

Later on, she realizes her mistake and boards a flight to return to her husband so that Ram can save his brother. However, Pakistani militants hijack the flight and they divert the flight's travel route. Even as Lakshmanan bravely fights for his life, it is now up to his father to rescue the hijacked flight and bring Ram back home in time for the life-saving procedure. Will Suri and Chandu succeed in saving their boys?
